About Marchand Gallery

Marchand Gallery is a local art bureau focusing on Russian fine arts from the second half of the 20th and 21st centuries. It showcases works by masters with academic training who employ extraordinary techniques and styles within the modernist course of contemporary Russian art. The gallery presents paintings, graphics, sculptures, and design objects that combine individual imagination and aesthetics with high-level craftsmanship. Since its inception in 2023, Marchand Gallery has been hosting regular meetings with artists and organizing events in both individual and closed formats.

As an art research bureau, Marchand Gallery also collects artifacts, testimonies from contemporaries, and archival materials about the teaching systems and methods in Moscow's nonconformist art studios. The primary focus of their research is on the Sitnikov school, named after V. Y. Sitnikov (1915-1987). Through these efforts, the gallery contributes to the preservation and study of an important aspect of Russian art history, particularly the nonconformist movement that emerged during the Soviet era.

Kirill Protopopov

Kirill Protopopov – sculptor, ranks among romantic direction of postmodernism. His creative style is distinguished by sleek, stream-lined shapes, smart forms, the finest work in tinted and polished bronze processing. The synthesis of ancient cultural heritage and modern civilization discoveries is one of his main characteristic features.

Natalya Muradova

Natalya Muradova is the first female RAA academic in the field of applied arts. Master of decorative textiles. She created tapestries for the Presidential Residence in the Moscow Kremlin, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation and The State Tretyakov Gallery. Muradova developed a unique technique which combines patchwork and alphabetic graphics, hand painting and printing, appliques of fabric, paper, lace, rhinestones and beads.

Dmitry Sandjiev

Dmitry Sandjiev is an RAA academic, a vivid representative of the ethno-modernism style. The very essence of Sandjiev’s art lays in his deep understanding of multiculturalism. The artist interweaves Western and Eastern culture, while archaic and modern tendencies coexist in a complex entanglement in his work. Sandjiev’s imagery keeps enthusiasts captivated by intense decorativeness and philosophical depth.

Leonid Glandin

Leonid Glandin – painter and graphic artist. Merited artist of the Russian Federation. Notable master of metaphysical still life. In his artwork Glandin reinterprets the motifs of folk art and creates art pieces on the brick of figurative and abstract art. Glandin brilliantly masters subtle pastel techniques as well as vibrant decorative pictorial art, as luminescent as a glass-window.

Andrey Muntz

Andrey Muntz – third-generation architect, painter and graphic artist. “I try to be open to the world, open to new ideas”, he defines himself. Muntz contributes to the tradition of Russian avant-garde abstract expressionism movement. He adheres to the method of intuitive production, creating his artworks in emotions, not the paint itself.

Art pieces are presented in private collections in Russia, Poland, France, the Netherlands and the USA.
